The NHS Pension Scheme was created in 1948 and is a pension scheme for people who work for NHS organisations in England and Wales. It is administered by the NHS Business Services Authority and general practice managers are responsible for the administration of the NHS Pension scheme for eligible members.This 2-hour session will cover the main areas of the scheme as well as more of a deep dive into some of the operational elements. We will explore ways in which practice pension administrators can gain an understanding of the key principles of the scheme.
The session will address how the scheme is administered, provide an overview and update of the scheme requirements to enable you to maintain accurate records, process new starters, leavers, retirements and comply with the scheme conditions.
