Show Notes
As Remembrance Day approaches, how can GP practices ensure that supporting veterans goes beyond just one day of the year?
In this episode of The Halfway Point, Ben is joined by Lisa Baldwin, Practice Manager and a veteran herself. Together, they explore what it really means to be a veteran-friendly practice and how recognising someone’s military service can make a difference to their care.
They discuss the importance of identifying veterans, the role of the whole practice team, and how veteran-friendly accreditation can become part of everyday practice culture rather than simply a certificate on the wall.
Plus, Lisa shares her Veteran Support Booklet, a practical resource helping practices connect veterans and their families with the support they need.
Because supporting those who have served shouldn’t stop when Remembrance Day is over.
Support and wellbeing: This episode touches on mental health and difficult military experiences. If anything discussed affects you, Samaritans are there to listen, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on 116 123.
